I can not believe half of what is written here people saying they have seen this mirror and other things. I read this and had no prior knowledge of it until this book and I am not stupid either. How do I know these people speak truth to me? Any suggestions?

I think you like me that is why you follow me and that is a nice compliment. I think there are always those who wish to invalidate the Bible any portion so then they can claoim that there is no GOD when deep inside4 they are afraid because they know there is a GOD but they do not want to truly know Him because that would mean they would have to obeey. Simple really. You are kind of silly.
You are correct in asserting that I have little 'clout' here. I am relatively new and no one really knows me yet. That is why I have to build a reputation; what I say here will influence how people percieve me. You're just the same as me. So we're on equal ground more or less. Now then, I am NOT afraid deep inside and I DON'T know that there is a god. I think I can speak for pretty much everyone else here when I say that it applies to all atheists. Now, about invalidating the bible... it's already been done. Even if it was validated, you'd have to give me a LOT of really good reasons why I should obey (much less worship) the monster that is the bible's God.

I never claimed to have seen the mirror in person. I have seen images of it. I'm a Japanese Studies major, it's part of what I do. Oh, and thanks for subtly claiming that I'm a liar.

[MODERATOR]Please stay on the subject of the Exodus and archaeology, and reduce the irrelevant prose, or this thread will go ~~Elsewhere~~.[/MODERATOR]

I did not subtly claim you were a liar. I am saying *I* am having a hard time believing people. This is due to have my trust shattered recently by a very horrendous event that shook me to the very foundations of my being. This is all that I am sying. I question my own reality and that is so scary. GOD was the only One who did and is getting me through it. I believe you BTW

Something happened how do you explain the annual celebration of the passover? Also God leaves room for us to have doubt. You will not find certainty with anything.

And yet you find that it is certain that God exists? Just because there's a Passover celebration doesn't mean that there needs to be an actual historical event to start it. If there was some specific event (rather than a story told by the priests) it doesn't have to be the one described in scriptures. On the subject of certainty, while I can not say with 100% certainty that the bible is bunk, I can point to egregious errors in regards to science and history which I know can't be correct.

PS. I apologize for misreading your earlier post.

Most Jews celebrate this holiday as a metaphor and are aware that its narrative of events is fictional.

Many people celebrate Halloween and Valentine's Day each year, too - it doesn't mean that such celebrations are based on actual historical events.

Atlantis is referred to in ancient writings, too. Is that evidence that Atlantis actually existed?

Isn't it possible that if someone discovered the writings of modern day authors a couple of thousand years from now they could - quite mistakenly - conclude that the events they relate actually took place, especially in the case of authors who use historical events or figures as the the basis for works of pure fiction?

And isn't it equally possible that the scriptures upon which religions such as Christianity and Islam are based are simply ancient works of "faction"?

Christianity is historical. You can't get around this aspect. Let me ask you what makes you doubt that the Bible is just mere holla balou? What is your primary reason (and please all jokes aside-i am truly interested) that you question the Bibles authority as God's word? Do you not think God takes an interest in you, reprise? Reprise as a person whoever this person 'reprise' is?
