I expect that you, having made a positive claim (specifically that there was substantial fluidity in the text of Matthew in the second century, offering as justification that "many professional NT scholars [accept that] the nativity story was a later addition"), have a vested interest in not making yourself look like an idiot. My interest in a given thread T is strongly positively correlated with the number of substantive arguments (A) and negatively correlated with the number of meaningless posts (B) to be found in it. My interest in a thread is given by the following equation: I = A^2 - B^2 + I_0, where I_0 represents my initial interest in the thread. At this point, there have been 43 (the mod notice at the end doesn't count) effectively meaningless posts in this thread. The initial condition can be defined as one (that would be one finger; I leave the question of which one as an exercise for the reader). That means my interest in this thread I = -1848. I'm sure you'll agree this new record for personal disinterest in a thread qualifies me as a disinterested third party.
