Mythicist Papers
A collection of resources for the study of early Christianity. An interesting, sometimes irreverent, collection of historical and modern sources. |

creationist are always complaining when we add to the TOE, saying it discounts the original. Just as science grows in knowledge, so does history. I did thumb through the site, when I get off work ill read it deeper. I have not stated it lacks some credible knowledge, creationist will often provide statements such as, truth, truth, misinformation to promote their agenda. I hope I dont find that |

The urban legend to top all urban legends. The urban legend that has the world in it's thrall - a world of simple minded people who believe everything they hear? But what's that old saying; 'You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time'. And if that is how things are - then I don't think we should be quick to think all of the people, back 2000 or so years ago, were fooled all of the time. Some people would be aware that the gospel JC story was not history - just as some people do so today. The difference between back then and now? The closer to the relevant historical time slot the easier it would be to observe the gospel story as allegory not history. Further away and it's the other way around. It's now far easier to read that gospel story as history than read it as allegory. The way out of this problem - we have to keep digging for a clearer historical picture. Happy digging..... |
