Default Call me a Heretic, but...

Mark 13:24-25 But in those days, following that distress, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

If the sun is also a star in its own right, then that means the sun will fall too. If you're a biblical literalist, then you must deny that the sun is a star. The moon does not give light, it is merely a reflector of light. The other side of the moon is dark. What about the stars falling? Those huge, incredibly hot nuclear fusion reactors? Would they fall from the sky to Earth? Or just fall from the sky? What about the stars directly "above" the Earth light-years away? If Jesus really is coming, I don't want to go to Heaven- I want some answers. What are the "Heavenly Bodies" they're talking about?

One must be a Catholic first to qualify as heretic.

Isn't a Heretic anyone who disagrees with the Church's teachings?

No, every Christian sect with any official doctrine has heretics. Most of them just don't make a fuss over heresies. A rare and then-famous exception occurred during the 1960s when Bishop James Pike came close to being tried for heresy by the Episcopal Church.

Yes, but the Church spelled with a capital C is Catholic.

Oh, OK but in Catholicism it is a heresy to belong a "Christian sect" because a Christian has been set free from religious slavery and sin. The contradiction is that one cannot be free in Christ and belong to a religion.

Comets --- traditionally associated with endtimes
and for good reason. Read the book of Enoch.

I would argue that "heavenly bodies" is our old idea of heaven and that inlcudes all that we think pertains to heaven. Rev. 21:1 clearly states that the old heaven and the old earth shall have passed away, including the sea that will be no more in the new heaven and new earth where the celestial sea becomes the foundation of our knowledge. We call her Mary.

The falling stars reference IMO refers to comets
which were visible and portend changing times.

Lomax and Knight (Uriel's Machine) hypothesise that
the Book of Enoch records the impact of an incoming
comet, broken into seven bits, as causing the great
flood via tsunamis on a global scale.

Two of the prophecies of Revelations are reported by
Eusebius to have been realised in the time of Constantine.
No need to say any more about Revelations.

BTW, the Hellenic culture prior to christianity called the
celestial sea not by the name of "Mary", but by name
the aether, or the quintessence, or the cosmic element.
In the East it was called "akasha".

The reason the bible says that the stars will fall from the sky - is because that's a reflection of the level of human understanding at that time. Precisely the same as thinking that epilepsy was caused by demon possession.
And that a virgin could give birth to a half-god, half-man.

Stars falling. That's what a comet looks like. If, however, the bible was truly God-inspired, you would think that the maker of the stars would have been able to "inspire" the writer to understand that comets are not stars.
And that stars cannot fall from the sky.
