The book is not bad, although the title is a bit misleading (was he trying to make more money from yet another book by sensationalising the title?). The main argument for the text of Mark being changed that he uses is perhaps as much explained by polysemy rather than trying to water down the texts. It may have been a combination of the two though. |

The title is possibly a publisher's creation (although one would assume that he'd have to approve of it).

I'm enjoying it so far. Haven't read through to the end, yet. Nothing that I didn't already know, but I really liked his opening "confession" of how he fell away from fundamentalism.

He has said on the Colbert Report (at least) that he is agnostic. I am currently going through this book and am enjoying it very much. If money was no object, I would buy it as a reference.
