Is this the film that states the parting of the Red Sea was caused by volcanoes ?
And that as result part of the Nile Delta "floated away " off the continental shelf ?

Funny how everyone seems to forget the end of Genesis.

this is kind of disingenuous. For one thing, while Genesis claims that Joseph became a powerful figure in Egypt, it does NOT say he became a Pharaoh or that the Israelites ever ruled Egypt. For another thing, the Hyksos were never enslaved and they did rule Egypt right up until the were expelled. The Hyksos were occupiers, they were never an oppressed class. While I think the Joseph myth (like the Exodus myth) might well be rooted in some kind of ancient legend about the Hyksos, the Hyksos were definitely not Israelites.

A charitable description. Perhaps he's simply aware that there's serious money to be made by exploiting the credulity of the faithful. Christianity is big business in America, and getting bigger.

Just to clear up any misunderstanding: The James Ossuary is real. The second part of the inscription is a later forgery. This has happened before with ossuaries. In the late 1940's, a slew of "Christian" ossuaries was found at Dominus Flevit at the foot of the Mount of Olives. At the time, they were thought to be the earliest tangible evidence of Christian activity, but it turned out that the charcoal crosses were merely alignment marks used by the box makers. I don't think there was any deliberate deception in that case.

I'm getting sick and tired of people running down that good man and true Christian Ron Wyatt. Follow this link and learn, oh ye of little faith.

Actually, I think that any disingenuity is coming from from your post.

this much is true so far, but that's where the disingenuity begins... a title? come on.

bzzzzt, disingenuous right there, it DOES say that JOSEPH ruled over Egypt, and that he brought his extended family down and they were treated like royalty.

No schidtt, that's all that I would argue for as well, best not to go off the deep end in interpreting someone's posts eh?

Joseph's power was still secondary to the Pharaoh's, granted only at the whim of the Pharaoh and not extended to the Israelites in toto but only to Joseph.

In that case, my apologies. I thought you were trying to imply that the Israelites and the Hyksos were the same group or that the Israelites, as a people, were ever claimed to be the ruling class of Egypt in Genesis and that's what I (mistakenly) believed was disingenuous.

To anyone having seen the documentary, do they account for the 600,000 men of military age? Do they show the evidence of the Hyksos numbering between 2.5 and 3 million? Do they evidence how the delta region was able to sustain this number of people (not including the native Egyptians)? Or do they skip this little portion of Scripture? Or do they gloss over it as some sort of "editorial" enigma in the text? Perhaps retreating into "hyperbole" to explain the inflated number? From God's Holy Inspired Word? Say it isn't so.

thanks, this is the kind of information I was looking for.
