Default Bauckham wins prize

http://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/2431

Richard Bauckham wins 15000 pounds for his rubbish book 'Jesus and the Eyewitnesses'

This is a book which claims that because the author of Luke does not name Bartimaeus, Bartimaeus must have been the person who the author of Mark got his story from.

Or something like that.... The 'logic' of Bauckham is impossible to follow.

Please note that because I have mentioned Bauckham first and last in this posting, this is 'proof' that all of this posting is based on Richard Bauckham's testimony. (I too can be a top-class Bible scholar. Can I have my 15 grand now please?)

"Richard Bauckham in his book 'Jesus and the Eyewitnesses' .... shows why we are right to have confidence in the testimony of those who personally witnessed the life of Jesus as recorded in the gospels."

Where is spin's dead donkey icon?

Jesus and the Eyewitnesses argues that the four Gospels are closely based on the eyewitness testimony of those who knew Jesus personally. The book challenges the prevailing assumption that the accounts of Jesus circulated as "anonymous community traditions," asserting instead that they were transmitted in the names of the original eyewitnesses.
Transmission all the way
to the waiting scriptoria
of 4th century imperial Roman
Hollywood and its editors.

Is Bauckham referring to the blind Bartimaeus in gMark?

Mark 10:46 -
Quote:
And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
