Excuse me? What about:
137:8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Who is HE? What am I missing here? I suppose next you'll tell me that god did not order (or approve of) the murder of the Amalekites (sp)? And what about the killing of the first born of Egypt? No problem with any of this? |

I can't imagine where Christians come up with this crap. That thought that an omnimax and allegedly perfect being would come up with this hodge-podge of nonsense is truly mind-boggling. And the LORD said: "Let's see, I think I'll make the punishment for sin a blood sacrifice." Centuries later... "okay, today I think I'll change my first perfect plan (?) and just have my son (who is also myself) killed, and now people have to believe that he rose from the dead without any evidence except anonymous claims of hearsay that seem no different from the countless other religious claims or they will suffer for eternity. That sounds good, godly, and fair." It is amazing what you Christians invent and really, actually believe. I guess if you can swallow the main tenet of Christianity, talking donkeys and walking on water just become that much easier to believe. |

Unfortunately for your eternal state, you are committing blasphemy by conforming God's word into what you want it to be rather than letting it conform you into what God wants you to be! P.S. The Gospel of Thomas does not advocate smashing infants on rocks. Switch over with me? Let Jesus be your true mystagogue! Vinnie |

Magus, your arrogance in this case is particularly noteworthy, and since I don't want you to spend eternity in hell, I thought it my civic duty to warn you of the biblical (and therefore eternal) consequences of your extreme arrogance. You, are in no position to tell another person whether they are a Christian or not. Samuel II 2:3 3 "Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed. Psalm 73:7-9 7 From their callous hearts comes iniquity; the evil conceits of their minds know no limits. 8 They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression. 9 Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth. Proverbs 8:13 13 To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Isaiah 13:11 11 I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. Ezekiel 18:29-31 30 "Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD . Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel? Matthew 7:1 Do not judge, or you too will be judged. Luke 6:37 37"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. It's about time you practice what you preach, don't you think Magus? |

Another verse that has always puzzled me (well, not really...)
Dt.27:22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. Isn't this in direct conflict with the (creationist) admitted fact that incest had to occur early on after creation? |

If you want to get rid of an annoying fundamentalist, quote Mk 16:17-18.

And what about the killing of the first born? The Pharaoh ordered the killing of all the male hebrew babies, and the Pharaoh wouldn't let the Israelites go. Got even gave progressive plagues from minimal, to catastrophic. It took the worst plague, the death of the first born babies to change the Pharaoh's mind. |
