All the best to you.
And maybe if you read "Jesus was Caesar" you will change your mind.

Peter,

Since first positioning myself directly in the middle of BC&H, I have come to admire the accomplishments of one undergraduate student - you are he. However, I had no idea that what you accomplished you accomplished without basic necessities such as stability, health, or love. Fortunately, I have the latter two well-grounded and am working hard on the first. I mean, you're already published in "The Empty Tomb" and have given a speech on your position - these are things that some only dream about. If you happen to read this again, please consider this sound advice: 1) cut back indeed, but don't abandon, especially so young. - life is cruel and hard the older we get, and the faster you create a name the better; 2) find your beloved and love her often (I would not have accomplished as near as much if I did not have her by my side); 3) don't forget what you have learned, and don't pass up unique opportunities.

Peter, many admire you and you've helped so many. There is such a thing as overdoing it, though, and I respect a man who can stop himself, but if you cut yourself off, is that not just as indulgent?

Whatever thou wilt, may it be well, and well fortune on the date(s) Peter!

best regards,

Chris

PS - does this mean you won't help me to program?

Good luck. I'm sure the boards will not be the same without you.

Thank you for all the responses and support.

I will continue to work on my website--indeed, I will probably spend more time on it in the next two months than I have in the past year. I will also spend some time on other things related to religious studies that I think have some enduring value, such as contributing to the software project to which Chris alludes, and following up on the "open source [sic] scholarship" suggestions that may arise at the SBL meeting in Philly. That is, of course, as long as these activities don't detract from what's most important to me right now--getting the stability, health and love that Chris mentions.

thanks again,
Peter Kirby

Oh, Peter, how naughty of you to desert us like this, thinking of yourself and your future and not of the adulating masses here who have come to know and revere you. Nevertheless, bestest of futures and keep your tongue firmly in your cheek.

What is that?

(1) To complete my education and do more to secure reliable income.
(2) To lose more weight and generally improve myself.
(3) Sooner than later, to find a woman and to start a family.
Don't come back. :devil3:
I mean that in the best possible way.

Wishing you all the best with your goals

Hopefully life has a lot in store for you in the future!
