Default Original Sin

I'd like to hear someone explain the morality of Original Sin, please. It baffles me, and I want to hear how it could be considered moral in any moral code. Thanks in advance.

The original sin was false. It was created to discredit women.

Do you mean original sin as in Adam and Eve, or do you mean original sin as in everyone is born with sin?

Sorry, should have clarified. I meant original sin as everyone is born with sin.

This topic sounds intriguing. Someone in another thread just challenged me on it. If any Christian has a good understanding of it, please post.

I would begin by saying I think ‘original sin’ is not ‘original guilt’. We are each judged on the basis of our own deeds. But it seems the ‘original sin’ has had some sort of consequence for everyone else.

If you want to determine for yourself (what original sin might entail), I think the main bible passages on it would be Romans 5 (from about verse 12), and the beginning of genesis.

LP675: I have read them, but I still do not see how it could be seen as moral. It is a attempt at destroying free will IMO.

I am not sure that makes any sense. Everyone is born (? Sinful?, or ?with a sinful ‘nature’?), but I don’t know it can be said anyone is “born with sin. Its more like ‘born with a predisposition toward sinning’ or perhaps ‘having free will, therefore having the capacity to sin’ (although the latter I suspect would be rejected, perhaps rightfully, by most).

there is no such thing in Judaism, it is a x'ian invention used to justify the creation of a "savior".

How about a clone? Could a cloned person watch the Seattle Seahawks on Sundays in peace and not have to worry about hell??

The first one is immoral. Being born with free will, BUT a tendency towards evil is a slap at morality. Also, it destroys free will. That's like playing a game with loaded dice.

The second one is better. Man is born with free will, therefore, the choice to do good or evil.
