Where would be a good place to start for researching the "evolution of the scripture"? More interested in websites than actual books.

Also, how much credibility do you put it "oral traditions" of the scripture?

Can you clarify whether you are interested in the Hebrew Bible (AKA old testament) or are you interested in the new testament?

We have a recent thread going on the documentary hypothesis for the HB with some links in it. The state of the field is in flux there.

As far as the NT goes, heh - I guess I'm the first to peddle Doherty.

Zero unless a methodology is produced that can demonstrate capability of reliably identifying them. To my knowledge, no such methodology has ever been established.

Strangely enough, when Jesus Seminar people discard bits and pieces of the gospels as not being, as they understand it, reflective of a historical Jesus, you could use the information and reverse engineer the evolution of the gospels. One might start with what Paul knew about the good news and work with that as a base, though one has to handle the material attributed to Paul with great care, for writers used Paul's name when composing related literature and even when augmenting what he wrote.

(I can't advocate sites, because my approach has always been read the source texts as critically as you can and work from them.)
