Is all knowledge in the Bible?
This question was moved from another section, you guys seem to be able to respond better than most about all topics.
Is all knowledge in the Bible? this is something that seems to keep many Bible bashers going, it does not matter what you say, the answers in there somewhere. Its no good going into detail about science or whatever it is that makes all the sense to you, the leap of faith is the standard reply. But its a reply that is based on the Bible having all the answers, does it, yeah right, history can tell a different story, use it well, no leap of faith overcome documented history, can it? |

I'm positive this isn't really a "Secular Living" topic. Let's try (waves magic wand)...BC&H.

all knowledge in the Bible? the answer is no. for example: there's no knowledge of what Christ did between age 12 through 30. curious as to what basis a person would make this claim. I've yet to find cheat codes to any video games.
my guess is that someone in opposition to the Bible would use this statement to discredit the Bible. does the fact that all knowledge is not in the Bible discredit it??? if we apply that line of reasoning to any other book then we must descredit every book we read. for example one may have a perfect math book in which all equations are true but this book may not contain fact of European History. Thus the fact the European History is not meantioned in the Bible does not discredit the purpose for which the Math book was written. If the Bible claimed to contain all knowledge then we're on another topic. The question is this "Is the Bible accurate for the purpose in which it was written?" |

It certainly appears that all the knowledge available to the self-limiting minds of millions of right-wingers is contained within the bible. This accounts for their self-assured smugness.

Tell me about the pi ‘problem’, I remember someone waffling on about it a while ago (not here). "All knowledge" is not in the Bible, and only a kook would tell you it was. But if one believes it is inerrant, then of course wherever it makes reference to geography, history etc, it would make sense to believe the Bible. |
