IN this post, Keith&Co. reported that he was "Banned for using a fanfiction discussion board's Mary Sue Litmus Test to prove that Jesus was a Gary Stu. I didn't even know the board owner cared..."

Which got me to thinking. I've scored JC in the Lord Raglan profile, so why not a Mary Sue one? A Mary Sue is a certain very obnoxious fanfiction character, an idealized projection of the story's author who is loved by just about everybody but the story's readers. Characters like that come in both sexes, with the male version getting called Gary Stu, Marty Sam, etc. I found these Mary Sue tests, and I scored Jesus Christ on them:

• The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test
• The Original-Fiction Mary-Sue Litmus Test
• The Writer's Mary Sue Test!

Jesus Christ turns out to be a Gary Stu in the first two of them, though not a very big one. And in the third test, he's almost, but not quite, a Gary Stu.
