For years I have been saying that the Christian religion was based on Myth Fables that people of antiquity BELIEVED were true.

There was no human Jesus just anonymous stories about Jesus the Son of God that did miracles was crucified and was raised from the dead.

The short-ending gMark contains miracles after miracles that are total fiction but was absolutely plausible and believed in antiquity.

The Gospels all claim the Commission to preach the Gospel, the very Command to preach the Jesus story, was given by a Resurrected Jesus.

Remarkably, Jesus who was described as the Son of a Ghost in gMatthew and gLuke WAITED until he was dead and then resurrected to reveal the Secret to preach the Gospel.

Today, Ehrman MUST believe the Jesus story-- he will NOT ever see a real Jesus.

Ehrman's historical Jesus is based ENTIRELY on Belief and that is PRECISELY what happened in antiquity.

People of antiquity, like Ehrman today, believed the stories of Jesus were true WITHOUT a shred of credible evidence.

Yes, it is based on belief, you are right.

They followed a man and believed that man was something special; for him it was like winning an election by a wide margin; and for them that man was like Eisenhower in the election of 1952.

Later when he died, those who had loved him praised him sky-high and the prohibition to speak badly of the dead did the rest.

Belief can be a wonderful thing to possess; the soviets needed that at Stalingrad and would have died of despair in Leningrad without the belief in victory.

That is what you believe without a shred of evidence for the man. It is evidence for the man that is missing.

We can't find the man OUTSIDE the story.

Again, that is what you believe but without a shred of credible evidence for the man.

All we have is Belief but we don't have evidence for the man.

People read the Jesus story and BELIEVE it. That is all.
