Yes, he had good insight and integrity. And has them still, I would say.

I saw his obituary in today's London Daily Telegraph. Not having gotten around to it before, I shall now be getting his The Text of the New Testament: Its Transmission, Corruption and Restoration. Also, there are not many fields of endeavour that the Oxford University would look to Princeton to find an editor for one of its standard reference works, but it went to the Reverend Professor to co-edit The Oxford Companion to the Bible.
