Hi all,

I come here every now and again mainly because of the wealth of knowledge that resides here (hey, what’s that sucking sound?) anyway, I often hear how the apostles were martyred.

So in light of that, which apostles were they, and what is the best evidence, or what evidence is there to support these claims?

st. thomas the apostle was supposed run through with a spear and is buried in Chennai, India (St. Thomas Mount).

The mythology surrounding the martyrdom of the apostles comes largely from ante-nicene church fathers relating secondhand information. Ultimately there is no compelling evidence that any of the apostles were martyred. I believe church tradition has it that all the apostles save John were martyred.
