Synoptic Problem
I don't know if this website has been posted before, but it's got some excellent reading material and wonderful links for anyone who's interested in the "Synoptic Problem".

Geez Ish! That site has diagrams I'd expect to see on a football comentator's board...
What arguments about the Synoptics do you personally find the most interesting? And what theory do you subscribe to personally? My own thoughts and arguments are outlined on the Redating the Books of the New Testament thread, and if you have any thoughts or comments on anything I had to say there, it would be greatly appreciated (the Synoptics take up most of the first page of that thread). BTW, welcome to the Boards. I don't think I have said that to you thus far. It is always good to have another thoughtful Christian on the boards. Peace, Nomad |

"Geez Ish! That site has diagrams I'd expect to see on a football comentator's board..." It does, doesn't it? I'm the type who learns visually, so it's great for me. You know the type...did well in geometry, not so well in algebra... Aside from that, how do you feel about their information? Reliable? Nomad: "What arguments about the Synoptics do you personally find the most interesting? And what theory do you subscribe to personally?" Personally, I have not studied this area quite as well as others, though I plan to soon. I have to say that the weight of evidence (at least by modern standars) lies in the two source theory. Though I feel I must concur, I would be personally much more comfortable with something like the Griesbach theory. I very much like the idea that Mark is a redaction, and I think it is *quite* possible. Who knows, maybe I'll be one of the scholar's to sway the majority one of these days... Then again, maybe I'll find I simply agree with them... Nomad: "My own thoughts and arguments are outlined on the Redating the Books of the New Testament thread, and if you have any thoughts or comments on anything I had to say there, it would be greatly appreciated (the Synoptics take up most of the first page of that thread)." Yeah, thanks. I've been following it. I'm just not sure I can constructively add to it, at least at the moment. I'm also trying to keep my posts to a minimum. It's hard to juggle 10 debates at once... Nomad: "BTW, welcome to the Boards. I don't think I have said that to you thus far. It is always good to have another thoughtful Christian on the boards." We greeted briefly on some other thread, but once again, nice to meet you. I am also glad to know other Christians that have thought through their beliefs. In Christ, Ish |
