The Age of Accountability
Evangelical christians often claim that if a person dies before the "age of accountability", they automatically go to heaven.
Just a few questions to the theist who accepts this doctrine: (1) What biblical passages do you use in support of this doctrine? (2) Are there any passages that define when the "age of accountability" is? (3) If the doctrine is really true, wouldn't it be in the best interest of the child to abort rather than risk the possibility that the the child may later reach the age of accountability? I have my own take on the "age of accountability" doctrine. I believe that it was invented later to make it easier for pastors to comfort grieving parents that may have lost a baby or young child. Comments? (By the way, I was banned from CARM - Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry -because of pointing out that the kindest thing a parent could do if the age of accountability doctrine is true would be to kill them before they reached the age of accountability.
