"The Bible Unearthed" and Dever's Review
I have been reading posts about Finkelstein's "The Bible Unearthed". I have noticed that a person, Ish has mentioned Dever's critical review of the book.
Is it not true that other than the issue of the size of David's kingdom, Dever essentially agrees with Finkelstein? Yet I get the impression from Ish's posts that Dever SUBSTANTIALLY disagrees with Finkelstein. |

I realize that Dever is a "revisionist" and as I stated on the other thread, I don't agree with all of his ideas either. I tend to be more conservative myself. If you read a little closer, I think you'll see that I note only some of Finkelstein's ideas as non-mainstream. Hope this clears things up. Ish |
