Paul was alive during the life of Jesus but Jesus waited until after he died before making him his most powerful apostle. Those other losers that where right there with Jesus just didn't really amount to anything after Jesus died.
I guess only Jesus had the understanding to know why he did not ever meet Paul to help establish him, give him better insight, etc. Just seems funny a God would never meet up with him and he did so much more than those other Apostles who had the real first hand picture and knowledge of Jesus. Maybe it helps without having reality to screw up the picture Paul had of Christ (whoever that was). |

I have said it before and I will say it again. Paul was a clever con man. He saw a chance to bilk some coin out of a bunch of goat herders and took them for all they were worth. He was the Jim Baker (not the former Sec. of State) of his day. He probably even had a bad rug and a shiny tunic.

I recently read Romans and both books of Corinthians whilst sitting on the dunny pumping out my morning offerings to Belphegor (the God of the Sewer for those who don't know their demonology). The word of God? ??? ??? Paul was a sick, twisted, bitter individual who was far too concerned about where other people placed their one eyed hierophants. I think that in light of the Gospel of Thomas, we might suggest that Jesus was a competent mystic and sage but that Paul hijacked and distorted his message, mutilating it to make it more acceptable to the Romans and did all of this to overcompensate for a "certain variety" of problem that requires stoning to death in Leviticus....and I'm not talking about the wearing of polyester/cotton T shirts either. |

I've never met a preach who wasn't a con man, a liar, and a thief. Sounds just like the 3 guys hanging on crosses...must have set a precedence.

Jesus survived the crucifixion and later taught Paul. The gospels would implode if fundies realized this knowledge. Paul made him into a puka. With the knowledge that Jesus was alive and well makes Paul into more of a con man.
