Need help with Hebrew...
The book of Jeremiah quotes God as visiting evil on this people or that several times in the King James Version (and some others), but more modern translations use punishment, disaster, calamity... still sounds bad.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone who has an interlinear Bible or who reads the prophets in Hebrew could tell me what word is translated as "evil." Is this a fair translation or is calamity more accurate? |

If you can find the exact hebrew word I can get my roommate to translate it for you if you want.

The word "Ra", and/or "Rah", is used in conjunction with bad/evil(natural/moral)...see the following....

Sorry, LadyValar, I'm not particularly interested in numerology.
Are you telling me that "rah" is the specific word used in the text I'm referring to? |

Thanks, E_muse. I've used the Blue Letter Bible site before but didn't know it had that function.
Oh, and thanks, LadyValar, sorry I didn't understand what you were getting at. |
