Isaih 7:14 - Virgin Birth Jesus
Some people say this prophecy refers to Isaiah 8: 3-5. This cannot be because the prophecy states that you shall name him Immanuel. The person's name who is born in 8:3-5 is Maher-shalal-hash-baz. Did this clear up some problems?

Unfortunatly, the person born at the start of the New Testament was named Jesus, so it can't be him either. Duh!

Ah ah ah, the virgin birth doctrine was introduced in the 2nd century AD, long after the time of Jesus.
If you would study the lineage from King David to Jesus, ask yourself why the gospel writer(s) wrote 'Joseph' and not Mary's name. Mark, being the oldest gospel, has nothing to say except his coming was foreordained and starts the story with his baptism. neither Luke nor John mention anything but in the book of Matthew 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. The bible remains the atheist' best weapon for disproving Christianity's foolish self-congratulatory notions. ~Speaker 4 the Death of God~ |
