It seems to me that your relative isn't interested in a debate, he simply wants to regurgitate a mantra he learned as a four year old. If he continues to respond using only "Jesus loves you", either walk away firm in the knowledge that his only defense from your logical truth is to recite a line he memorized as a child, or attack the mantra.
Jesus loves you. Q) Who is this Jesus? A) The Son of God Q) How do you know he is the son of God? A) The Bible tells me so Q) How do you know what the bible says is the truth? A) God wrote it Q) Right here it says the Gospel according to Matthew, is God's name Matthew? A) No, God told Matthew what to write Q) How do you know God told Matthew what to write? A) Matthew told us so Q) David Koresh claimed to speak to God, do you believe that? A) No Q) Why do you believe Matthew over David Koresh? etc, etc, etc If the response "Jesus loves you", is offered as an answer to three or more different questions, you are justified in walking away from the supposed debate. |

How can they deny the overwhelmingly crucial importance of the activities in the Garden of Eden? Without original sin, "Jesus Christ died for nothing, I suppose."
