Smile Too sweet,

Atheist Can Pray at City Meeting

Quote:
Among other things, the prayer asked for deliverance "from the evil of forced religious worship now sought to be imposed upon the people ... by the actions of misguided, weak and stupid politicians, who abuse power in their own self-righteousness."
It's the day we've all talked about, when all of the "let's start a meeting with prayer" initiatives backfire on the pious show-offs.

That is awesome.

But this is even better...

Salt Lake City chose to end public prayer rather than deal with the inevitable problems.
I wonder, did the atheist go to "pray" simply to attack the government-sponsored prayer? It isn't exactly spelled out in the article, but that's the impression I got.

Pure genious, though.

Keep this in mind with the "National Day of Prayer" coming up. (First Thursday (?) in May)

Thumbs up National Day of Reason

How about a National Day of Reason

I heard about this through a local atheist group. I have a feeling that the national prayer thing will be pushed a lot this year due to the war.

How come there's two National Day of Reason? One is on May 1, the other one on May 8?
