Post Development of agape

I'm not sure this is the right forum, but...

Someone told me today that agape has changed in meaning since classical and new testament times. It now has the meaning of eros in modern greek.

Would anyone here know when this change started happening, or could point me to resources which might tell me when this happened?
It would make a fascinating subject of study.

Thanks,
