Post You call this a desgn?

If the "creator" is so danged smart, why the heck did he design us to live on a planet that is mostly useless to us? or conversely, why did he design an earth so poorly suited to our needs?
Earth's surface is 75% covered by salt water which is a total waste. can't drink it, can't live in it, you would think a designer would have given us the ability to breathe in water. Way too much unusable land in the remaining 25%, and just a touch of fresh water, enough to have folks kill each other for.

Agreed. And get this. There are dozens of other planets other than our own, most in other solar systems. What do we need those for, especially the extrasolar planets (and esp. those that are practically point-blank to their host stars)? Tack on the general concensus of American theists that think the universe is going to end within this century, and you'll get an even better perspective.

A what about all of that useless vacuum out there? 99.999999999999999999999999% of the universe is empty void. What's the point of all of that wasted space?

The Fall. The earth was perfect and there was no struggle for resources before The Fall.

Intresting Issue....About the other planets and other random, not really useful stuff in space...What would NASA do without them? And all the astronomers through the ages?

Life would be amamzingly boring if we only had ourselves and the exact resources neccessary for survival? What would the Discovery Channel show all day?

Can we blame the existance of Martha Stewart on the Fall??? It makes it all feel a bit conspiracy-like which seems apropo for any discussion involving THAT woman!

And further consider that 99.99999999% of matter is simply empty space, and you get a whole lot of nothing going on.
