Idiot preacher
Quote:
#1 Evolution says “life evolves toward higher order and complexity” and Creation shows that “since creation life has moved toward less complexity”. Therefore Creation is true.
This is not an argument, it's a bunch of words that might be related to some form of argument somewhere, strung together in a nonsensical fashion. The "conclusion" shouldn't be there, as a line of reasoning was not presented that establishes why one is false and the other true. Not to mention that it's a False Dichotomy.
Quote:
#2 Genesis flood (worldwide) has now been accepted by science as fact
"Science" is a body of knowledge and principles relating to the physical world. How can it "accept" or "deny" anything? Perhaps what he meant was, "Scientists have accepted the Genesis flood." That would be a lie, however. No real scientist have ever done such a thing.
Quote:
due to every single mountain range in the world having marine fossils on it.
Too bad that mountains are a product of plate tectonic folding, therefore mountains could have once been underwater regions, and that this is demonstratably false, many mountain ranges don not have marine fossils, and finally that this actually contradicts the Genesis flood. No real or imagined sorting mechanism can account for why marine animals and not small birds or other similar sized creatures were at the top of the mountains. Whoops!
Quote:
#3 The following “laws” support Creation and not evolution:
a. First law of thermodynamics – total sum of all energy and matter is constant –nothing is gained.
Even our simpleton preacher knows you can't take two apples and have three apples in the end (unless you had a magical apple machine of some kind), but 1st law is totally and utterly irrelevent to systems related to cosmogony, cosmology and biological evolution. Just to make sure the idiot is the ultimate expert on thermodynamics in the universe, why don't you ask him to do some enthalpy calculations for you, and see what his reaction is.
Quote:
b. 2nd law of thermodynamics – all matter is becoming less orderly and running down
No, the second law of thermodynamics is NOT that matter is becoming less orderly. It is that: Unless heat available to do mechanical work is provdided to a system, that heat available to do mechanical work will disperse itself homogenously in that system (I think I phrased that correctly).
Quote:
c. Law of biogenesis- only life produces life, so chemicals coming together in a primordial swamp and forming a living organism is non-sense.
There is no law of biogenesis, never was, except perhaps relating to bacteria genesis in meat broth and milk. Ask him to provide ACTUAL counterevidence to the proposition that life can come from non-life in a primordial "soup". Keyword is evidence. If there is such a law, then he should have no problem supporting and establishing it.
Quote:
d. The fossil record vindicates Creation and destroys evolution – no transitional fossils, evolution in fossils a myth. There is not a single transitional fossil.
Show him a chart of hominids, and other pictures of transitionals, and see if he still makes this wild claim.
Quote:
Secondly, there is not a geological column that evolutionists use to prove the record –it simply doesn’t exist.
The geologic column is not used to "prove" anything. What the hell kind of crack was this guy smoking? It is used as a theoretical -guideline-, read -guideline- as to how strata will appear. And yes, the entire column as proposed in the -guideline- does in fact exist in several places.
Quote:
Lastly, on his deathbed, Charles Darwin admitted that as a younger man he was mistaken, admitted he was wrong and people had made a religion out of his theories, and he wanted his housekeeper to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with his friends and neighbors. Said he was reading Hebrews – the royal book as he called it.
This is a lie upon a lie. The original myth was exposed long ago by a friend (or relative, I can't remember) of Lady Hope. She never even visited Darwin! So how could she have personally converted him on his deathbed? Now the fool preacher has created a whole new elaborate myth that's more bullshit than the original. Anyway, even if Darwin did recant, (and creationists have a hard time understanding this) that has absolutely FUCK ALL to do with the scientific validity of their theories. If Einstein had said his relativity theory was just a prank he pulled as the result of losing a bet in a bar, would that make relativity suddenly false?

Something like this?

Point out that they're in chronological order. Then ask him to find a dividing line between the ape ones and the humans, and explain why.

If that's the best the preacher can do to defend his religion, then Atheists have nothing to worry about.

Just write a polite letter to the preacher reminding him that it is a sin to bear false witness. That all he said were lies, and that you hope it was his sources that lied and not himself.

Oolon Colluphid oint out that they're in chronological order. Then ask him to find a dividing line between the ape ones and the humans, and explain why.
DNAunion: Hold on a second. Are you claiming that humans evolved from apes? If not, are you saying that you guys can fake an transitional series from apes to humans with well-chosen photographs?

DNAunion: No reply yet. Okay, I'll ask again.
