Default What are these?

I came across these skulls about a year ago on a website but they had no explanation with them. I have since lost the site and can't find anything about them. I have no idea if they're real, who they were or what happened to them. Has anyone seen them before? These are posted on my website so please don't suggest e-mailing the webmaster.

Am I allowed to post this many pics?

I can't see them, for a couple of reasons:

You can't use html in your posts here. Use vB code. There's a help link on the left when you create a message, but the simple answer is that you need to surround the url with img and /img tags in square brackets ("[","]"), not angle brackets.

However, even when I go directly to the links you provided, I can't see them -- my browser (chimera, on Mac OS X) reports errors trying to decode the jpegs.

Just guessing from the names, though, they are probably just deformed. All kinds of things can go wrong in development and skew skull formation in very strange ways. If you're ever in Philadelphia, stop by the Mütter Museum. There's stuff there that will probably make your collection of photos look tame.

That's a very good question, Monkey, since we can't see 'em

There's lots of nifty tricks with this new version of the board, but the easiest -- sorry, most certain -- way to insert a pic is a bit of manual typing: you put the url of the pic itself (if you’re using Windows, find it by right-click and ‘properties’) inside the [square bracketed code] for 'image', ie {img}.

Thus: {img}http://www.yourpicsurl.jpg{/img} but with [] replacing {}.

Let’s try it with one of yours...

... Hmmm. No luck. Maybe you could try again?

And as far as I know, there's no rule on the number of pics you can post; however the old software struggled with more than six images (I haven't tried yet with this nice new one).

Cheers, DT

Remote linkng is forbidden from his site. You'll need to either allow access to the /images/skulls area or link to it and place inages there for us to see.

These ones are the most deformed I have ever seen, but I don't get out much.

The last link works. (But I was able to see the others by copying and pasting the URLs into my browser.)

If these skulls are for real, I would guess these are simply deformed humans, or people with various diseases (perhaps brain tumors?). One appears to be from a hydrocephalic child. There are also cultural practices, such as various forms of binding, that could produce abnormally elongated skulls. I guess the real question is whether we can find humans today with skulls like this.

I've seen worse. They're bizarre, but still...all they get is a "ho-hum" from me.
