I've always been a little curious. Without knowledge of good and evil, how did they talk?

ADAM: <offers a banana> Want a banana?
EVE: Is it OK to offer me that?
ADAM: What do you mean?
EVE: How should I know whether it is OK for you to give me this or me to accept it? What if this is an immoral act?
ADAM: <mouth drops open> Aren't you hungry?
EVE: But that's what I mean. How do I know if it is moral to eat? How do I know whether I am supposed to make a judgment about this or not? I'm tired of just acting out my instincts. I mean, last week, I roasted a squirrel alive. And yesterday I took a dump in the pool while we were swimming. And I said it wasn't me when I farted the other day. Do you think these are good things?
ADAM: How should I know? Look, Eve, sometimes a banana is just a banana.

At least get the story straight if you are planning to malign me.

I did not relegate your great grandmother to hell. I have no authority to do that.

You originally asked me a "hypothetical question" and I answered it despite the fact that you set a deliberate and clear "trap" for the new fundie. I admitted that anyone including your great grandmother and her Nazi killer could go to heaven if and only if they accepted Jesus as their Saviour. I also admitted that I have no way of knowing what either of their final destinations are.

You have chosen to twist my words around out of a general hatred for any Christian. I am only answering now because I wish others to know what I wrote. In the future, I will only address new issues, not old ones, with you.

(Fr Andrew): Actually, aside from Seth (Gen 4:25) the Bible says that Adam begat sons and daughters (Gen 5:5). But the notion that Cain married one of his sisters is unsupported in scripture and little more than apologetic floundering to get around the unavoidable conclusion that A & E (plus family) were not the only human inhabitants on earth at the time of "creation".

Toe EstherRose:

Considering that my wife is an ordained Baptist minister, I don't think you can say I have "general hatred for any Christian." However, I will confess some rancor towards those of your ilk who cling to beliefs so primitive and savage as to relegate the innocent to hell.

Beliefs, "new fundie," are a matter of choice. If you choose one that sends innocent people to hell, don't be surprised that a certain amount of up-chucking goes in your direction. You can't hide behind your god around here.

What you respond to is your business. Conclusions people draw from your decisions are ours. You've already queried what conclusions people draw around here from lack of response. The suspicion is: you are unable to sustain your position.

With regard to the nature of your beliefs, if you don't respond, don't be surprised if you're held accountable. Everyone gets the same pail and shovel in this sandbox.

No. The last person to post quite often has the weaker argument.

NO ONE is innocent. Apparently you haven't learned that yet.

Don't know about you, but my kids are definately innocent. For that matter, so is my wife, and many of my acquaintances. Most have never done much in the way of bad. That is unless you want the eternal cop out of "adam and eve sinned so everyone in the entire history is damned", in which case I say you are full of it. When someone makes a poor choice, THEY pay the consequences(that is if they are aware of repercussions for said action ahead of time, eating from one particular fruit tree hardly seems reasonable for even their own deaths, let alone mankinds..). Fundies are so ridiculous they can't even smell the crap under their own nose.:banghead:

And now you know why most people in this world reject your disgusting religion. It is exactly tyhis presumptuous, guilt-ridden, finger-pointing shit that typifies xtians ingeneral and fundies in particular. And yes, the other Abrahamic religions are guilty of it too, But none of them, I believe, have tried to curse the world with the concept of original or inherent sin.

None of us is innocent, but you-all possess the keys to the kingdom. Right? You and George Bush that saved, washed in the blood, born again mass murderer.

Maybe this thread does need to be moved elsewhere.

If I Am not innocent, what did Jesus die for(according to traditional christian doctrine)?

Did he not die for our sins?

Judge not lest thee be judged

I cannot say who is in sin and who is not, well maybe I can based on selected writings found in Reality, but I choose not.

Love is the key
