I didn't think atheists were quite this bad, but just shows me even more how bad this world is where people insult each other for having different beliefs. Have i said you guys are idiots or stupid for not believing in God? Then why the insults because I do? The majority of this board is for the purpose of discussing God, and since Christianity is the primary religion, you are gonna get more christians than anything else here. If all you guys want to do here is insult, humiliate, ridicule and hate the Christians who come here, why have the majority of the board discussing that which you oppose? If its because you all just love insulting people and making them feel stupid, obviously you aren't such "good, golden rule" following people afterall.
Magus55, I have over reacted. I apologize for that. But it is funny that you beg for tolerance when that is something that atheist don't get very much of in this society. I'm not saying that we are hunted down and put into reeducation camps or anything like that, but we have Christianity shoved down our throats all through our lives. So you should not be surprised that when we get the chance, we shove a little of it back.

This is a particularly Christian time in this country with the President just about proclaiming the USA a Christian state. If the Christians in the country were "truly" tolerant, there would not be god on our money, or in our pledge or in our state mottos and so forth. Yes the faithful would have their churches, and their radio and TV stations, their magazines and so forth, but all of us Americans would have our country and be united under our constitution not the bible. Christianity as practiced by US Christians is one of the most divisive forces in the world today.

It is not that I love to insult people; it is that a lifetime of Christian intolerance has taken its toll on my tolerance. This website it one of the few places I have to let loose and vent my frustration. Magus55, I will give you some advice, there is very little you can say about Christianity that most of us have not heard a thousand times before. Consider the possibility that in a vastly Christian society such as the US we are atheists because we have not been convinced of Christianity despite the best efforts of scores of believers or we were believers but have come to the realization that Christianity as well as most other religion is nonsense. This is your big chance to be tolerant and learn about what we think. We already know what Christians think.

Where does the food come from? And I wonder if there are toilets in Heaven. Hey, maybe Hell is the toilet?

Why is this such an important thing for you to question?

Well, I don't know about you, but I go to the bathroom at least twice every day. I'd like to know if the facilities in Heaven will be comparable to those on Earth; if not, perhaps God could make some improvements and I will reconsider it.

Magus, thank you for replying to my question. I think oriecat has asked everything I was going to ask, given your response.
I frequently ask questions because I'm trying to understand what the other person thinks (altho' I know I do it facetiously sometimes, too.) I can be serious about understanding someone with no intention of converting to their faith
Best Wishes,

That's funny. I was baptised at one point in my life, and as someone pointed out on another thread, baptism doesn't "wear off," so the fact that I'm an atheist now, doesn't void my baptism.

Sorry to get technical on you, but IIRC there are more than a million atheists in the US alone! So, if he only took a million and I wasn't one of them, I'd be pissed to see our numbers reduced like that. There'd be more rampant breaches of C-S separation!

What would Christians do then?

"I now know for sure that I'm not supposed to believe in God... but I've seen His works with my own eyes! I've never been MORE sure God exists, but if I want to be saved I have to stop believing in him!"

*shrug* I dunno, it was absolutely hysterical at about 2 in the morning.
... if you posted this EXACT thread on the Rapture Ready BB? (sorry I don't have the link for ya!)

You mean, you were baptized by being immersed in water? Because that doesn't save you.

Of course not, you have to be circumcised.

Doesn't save you either, and its not even a Christian practice. But thanks for the sarcasm anyway...

I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues but I'm an atheist now. Does that mean I'm still saved?

It does bring up an interesting point. Jesus was a Jewish messiah, yet the authorities on jewish messiahs, (the jews) have concluded that Jesus was a fraud. Where does that leave you Christians?
