Default Biology textbooks rejected in Tennesee county

Quote:
The Blount County Board of Education denied the adoption of three new biology textbooks because they teach evolution but do not cover creationism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Treadway said he had reservations about the approach to the theory of evolution in the three texts. He said he does not want people to believe he is against evolution, but wants it to be taught as a theory along with creationism.

``With the overwhelming references to evolution, I don't feel comfortable with (adopting these texts),'' Treadway said.

Simerly said she is concerned with how evolution is approached in the selected biology texts, because creationism is not addressed.

``I do not believe that we evolved from anything other than human beings,'' she said.
Read it and weep:

Morons.

As soon as they make the same demand for the inclusion of the theory that the Earth was populated by aliens I'll let them start talking about creationism.

On second thought, they might actually go for that so nevermind.

The next course of action would be for the matter to be taken back to science instructors at the high schools and have them write a curriculum that includes creation being taught beside evolution. With that curriculum in place, the board would be content to adopt the three texts, according to Bell.

So these people are rejecting books recommended by biology teachers. I wonder what their own biology qualifications and background are that make them throw out those recommendations because religion isn't presented as a theory.

Apparently the school board hired the cheapest lawyer they could find. Otherwise, he or she should have been able to tell them that it is unconstitutional to teach creationism in a science class as competing scientific idea.

How can these people be so dumb? I don't get it, how did it happen? Were they born that way? Did they get dropped on their head a few too many times as a child? Don't they also realize that the christian creation myth isn't the only creation myth? If they wanted to be so rounded as to teach creation and evolution, or just creation, they'd have to teach all the creation myths, that could take a whole separate class. Oh shit, that's theology class and you can usually take it in college, where these idiots obviously chose not to go...Ok, I'm done now, sorry if I offended anybody

These people just piss me off

Hey, let's see how smart you are after being smacked over the head a few thousand times by a KJV bible.
