Never forget the destruction of the great Library of Alexandria by christian fanatics in 391 AD. The Caliph of Baghdad ordered what was left of the collection destroyed in 641 AD, and the christian world has ever since tried to pin the destruction on muslim fanaticism. I think that both religions deserve the credit, even though the christians did the lion's share of the work.

IIRC, what remnants we do have of the ancient Library and sciences were largely saved by the Moslems.

Right, Mageth, but that's like being thankful to someone for deciding to cut off only one of your arms. The muslims left us Aristotle. They destroyed the rest. Somehow, gratitude is not the emotion that first comes to mind.

That's true, and Muslims (unfortunately) also safeguarded several sacred Christian artifacts over those centuries too.
Still, both religions stink in my opinion.
I'll bet most of the wars going on around the world today (at least the ones the US isn't starting) have some type of Muslim involvement.

Umm, I wasn't exactly expressing gratitude (though I am grateful that what was saved was saved), I was merely pointing out a fact.

And, yes, both religions have left a swath of death and destruction in their paths.
