Arrow Is bestiality moral?

Do you think bestiality moral? Why or why not?

I think it is okay only when both parties consent. Or else it's just rape. However, people are often grossly disgusted by the thought of having intercourse with members of a different species, but when asked why they think so, it never ends up being more than a subjective preference. Any thoughts?

How would one go about judging that an animal has consented?

We seem to have no problem killing animals, dismembering and eating them. Worrying about sexual consent seems trivial in comparison.

I've also seen no evidence that sexual use of animals causes them significant distress and would thus constitute actual cruelty. However, (probably not surprisingly) I have not investigated the this aspect of the issue in any detail.

Well the highly controversial ethicist, Peter Singer seems to support the idea of beastiality.

He wrote a review of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1859843107/InternetInfidelsA/103-0008527-4931019" target="_blank">Midas Dekkers' Dearest Pet: On Bestiality</a>

Well personally I don't care whether it is illegal or not and if a person was considerate then I don't think it is particularly evil. I mean dogs sometimes have sex with people's legs so why shouldn't it work the other way around?

BTW, it might sound like I'm very knowledgeable about the subject, but actually I just remembered reading in a newspaper that Peter Singer had talked about bestiality and I just did some web searches for Peter Singer and bestiality... so I've never done it... well maybe to a few whales and ponies, but not common every day animals, like humans.

i'm sorry, i've gone too far.

As for bestiality being moral, i don't think morals enter into it. I don't think it's immoral to do it, but i can hardly say it is the moral thing to do can i. If you want some authentic doggy-style and the dog wants people-sex, more power to you, you'll make an interesting couple. But it really isn't anymore than a diversion, and i don't see any problems arising, unless there are offspring and then you'd have a discussion.

Do you mean zoophilia? I chated with girls who have sexual intercourses with dogs or horses. Some told that they do it only to diversify their sexual lives, but others told, that they can have sex only with animals, not with humans. If there is not another objection than that it disgusts someone, there is no objection at all-I would be disgusted if I had to care for a defecated patient. I think that an expert has to say if it is curable or if practising brings about some deterioration to the zoofiliac. I see a minor problem about this: the girls that have sex with dogs told me that they don't allow the dog a female dog. It is a criminal offence here, but I think, if it doesn't any harm to anyone and a big pleasure to someone, we surely should be able to tolerate it.
