I dunno... laying out bear skulls in neat rows doesn't seem much more sane than worshipping a dead guy.

Oh not this again.

If people keep bringing up the "great mother" myth, I'm going to be forced to start writing essays on what we actually know about the religious practices of prehistoric peoples. Probably starting with Catalhoyuk, where the digs recently yielded evidence that the area was a major manufacturing center for flint arrowheads and spear heads. Peaceful goddess worshippers, my ass.

And those goddess statues...when they found a complete one, it has a vulture head. Not exactly a nurturing, loving mother figure.

Time to hit the library and start getting references nailed down.
