Default Randall Terry

I got an e-mail this morning. It showed up on my dial-up modem but not on the RR connection. Damn, I dumped it already, should have saved it.

It claims that Terry has lost the law suits filed against him by ACLU, Planned Parenthood and others and is now destitute. They are asking for funds to help him. I think it could very well be a scam. Anyone else get this message?

Alan Keyes is running a campaign for him.

See this link: http://209.157.64.200/focus/chat/801076/posts

which excoriates Terry for abandoning his family in violation of Biblical principles (how can you trust someone like that?)

There's a copy on FreeRepublic:

Quote:
Dear Prolife Activist:

An outrage has occurred…And together, we need to right this wrong.

Randall Terry, the Founder of Operation Rescue, has lost everything because of his work in rescuing babies from abortion. Abortion clinics, Planned Parenthood, NOW, and the ACLU have been suing Randall in court for over ten years. They finally won, and took everything Randall owned.

It is our strong conviction that Randall has endured this prolonged conflict not only on behalf of unborn babies, but also on behalf of the entire prolife community.

And it is our strong belief that the pro-life community should join together to replace what was "consumed by the locusts."

We want to restore what the enemy took, and help equip Randall for the battles that lie ahead. In spite of everything he has endured, he is still in the fight.

If you have appreciated and been inspired by Randall Terry's many years of unselfish work for Christ and for the unborn, we encourage you to join us in helping him rebuild his life.

Please make as generous a contribution as possible, would you? $25, $50, or $1,000 if you can, and then show this letter to a prolife friend and your church and ask them if they would like to give to our fund too.

Randall has stood in the line of fire for years. Now let's stand up for him. Please do what you can! Make your check out to the Terry Family Trust.

God bless you,

Former Ambassador Alan Keyes
U.S.Congressman Ron Paul, 14th District, Texas
Fr. Frank Pavone, Founding Director, Priests for Life
Rich Buhler, Author, Speaker, Broadcaster
Joe Costello, Pres., Kylea Health and Nutrition
Warren Duffy, Host, Live From LA
Fr. Terry Gensemer, Director, CEC for Life
Norma McCorvey, Roe No More Ministries
Gary McCullough, Christian Communication Network
Rev. Bruce Moore, Pastor, ClearCreek Christian Assembly
Carl Thompson, Head of Operations, PromiseVision

Randall deeply appreciates whatever you can do, however large or small. To show his appreciation, he’d like to send you his powerful new music CD, “I Believe In You.” The rich melodies and moving lyrics will bless your soul. You can hear in the songs how God was faithful to Randall through his darkest times.

Every gift of every size is needed. But if you can give a gift of $35 or more, Randall will send you -– free, no shipping charge -- one copy of the CD.

P.P.S. Below is a letter from Randall's Attorney. . .

Jim Cerbone III, Esq. Attorney At Law

Dear pro-life friend:

I have been one of Randall's attorney's over the past 4 years, dealing specifically with the seizure of various assets and property. (I actually became an attorney in part because of Randall's leadership in Operation Rescue.)

The outrageous fact is this: Planned Parenthood and The N.O.W. have easily cost Randall the loss of over $200, 000. The home was sold, and Randall's equity was given to those who sued him. Bank accounts were seized...they even took his frequent flyer miles. This is a grave injustice, simply because of Randall's peaceful pro-life work.

The danger or any further seizure of assets is now behind Randall, and anything you give is safe from being taken by the Randall's political enemies. I hope that you will give generously to help restore to Randall what the abortion movement took.

Sincerely,

Jim Cerbone III, Esq.

Toto

That link didn't work. Maybe they are trying to supress it so people will forget that Terry ran out on his family. I have heard very little about him since that caper.

So basically the pro-lifers want to subsidize this guy's law breaking.

I mean, if he's lost all of these lawsuits then he's been proven culpable in a court of law. He's obviously doing something which violates the law and the rights of others, even if he thinks he's morally justified in doing so.

I wonder if I can get people to subsidize my breaking laws that I don't agree with. I find it immoral and well beyond the purview of government to regulate what substances I ingest. Maybe I can get an organization together that will pay me to openly flout the marijuana laws.

This also goes to show that conservatives (like everyone else) only respect the laws that they agree with, while telling everyone else that they can't smoke pot because it's illegal, and they can't gamble because it's illegal, and they can't "X" because it's illegal, etc. . .

A letter from Terry's former organization detailing his sins is here:

http://www.operationsaveamerica.org/...edsprayer.html

Quote:
Last August Randall left his wife of 18 years, set up an alternative residence in Windsor, and has told numbers of persons that he intends to divorce, annul or otherwise break covenant with his wife. This we earnestly pray he does not do. We have waited these many months to write in the sincere hope of seeing a change in his intentions. Many of his longtime friends (with whom he no longer associates) are shocked and bewildered that a man who has traveled the country pleading with Christian people to think and act biblically is now thinking and acting so anti-biblically on a number of fronts. When asked why he is doing what he is doing to his family, the reason that he gives is that he isn’t happy being married to Cindy.

It was in the Spring of 1997 when I noticed what to me were signs of Randall's spiritual deterioration - chiefly anger and self-will which manifested itself in what I would characterize as a lack of purity in speech and lifestyle. By August of 1998 I asked him to resign his long held position of Elder, and by August of 1999, having been told by him of his intentions to move out of his house and leave his wife, I asked him to resign as a member of the board altogether. In November of 1999 the church wrote a formal letter of censure (included below) and admonishment, calling him to repent, and dismissing him from the membership of the church as per his request to withdraw his membership.

Cindy (Randall's wife) and children are still with us. We are offering them as much emotional and spiritual support as we are able, but what they really need is for Randall to repent and return to loving his family. Splitting the children's time between two residences is certainly not an acceptable substitute for a Biblical patriarch-father, a father who trains his children by word and example to know what it means to think and act Biblically. Nowhere is such training more important than in showing them what it means to be a husband who loves his wife as Christ loved the Church and gave His life for her (see Ephesians 5:20 ff). It is through the fathers, more than through any other person, that children learn (or don't learn) about sacrificial love - love that dies to self, love that saves.

The Freeper post contains this:

Quote:
Randall Terry has continued to raise funds and ask people for money for his various endeavors while many in the pro-life movement gladly shell out their money to support his causes. What he never makes mention of is the fact that he has divorced his wife without cause and married a former aide. In addition to this, he was censured (i.e. the protestant version of ex-communication) from his church in upstate New York.

Terry called his successor at Operation Save America "a Judas" for revealing what Terry had done. Still many have continued to support him. I donated to Randall Terry's 1998 Congressional Campaign and purchased a copy of his Leadership Institute tapes but I'm not supporting him or his future endeavors.

The problem of this man having any "battles ahead" is obvious. He has no moral authority from which to speak. As Reverend Patrick Mahoney observed, "There is 100 percent agreement in the pro-life community that Randall not be at the lead on any issue that impacts our movement. Our movement is rooted in biblical ethics and morals. He has too much baggage. The issue becomes him."

I have to question the judgment of the people who prepared that letter as well as those who signed it. Randall Terry is a huge hypocrite. This man is supposed to be an advocate for the family but left his wife and family because "the music was gone". See this New York Times Article for more.

From the copy of the article:

Quote:
Randall Terry, the charismatic, hyper-aggressive founder of Operation Rescue, who personified the anti-abortion cause, is being ostracized by the very movement he helped create. His former pastor and colleagues say he is an unrepentant sinner who betrayed the faith by abandoning his wife, using foul language and drinking alcohol in the presence of children, and who nevertheless still seeks to raise money from those unaware of how far he has fallen.

. . .
Mr. Terry smiled when told of Mr. Benham's judgment. 'And I smoke cigars,' he said. 'That was a big thing for them.'

. . .
Mr. Terry, 42, makes no apologies for divorcing his wife of 19 years and marrying a former assistant who is 16 years his junior - although he expresses sadness over the marriage's failure. But he said that he did regret some of what he has said and done (although he would not say what), and he wondered aloud what yesterday's Randall Terry would say about the Randall Terry of today.

'I think I would have been too detached and too unkind,' he said. 'That's painful for me; that's reality.'

. ..
In a sense, Mr. Terry is back to where he started almost 20 years ago. He is once again selling used cars, . . .

* * *

Mr. Terry, though, said that he was trapped by extremely conservative tenets of Pentecostal Protestantism that he no longer embraced. He said that he was being pressured to stay with his wife and change his ways by congregants who drank, smoked and were on second marriages. . . .

Randall Terry was inspired by Christian Reconstructionism. One of his followers was James Kopp, who murdered a doctor in Buffalo. While he has chosen it ignore the many clear Biblical prohibitions of divorce, he is still campaigning against abortion and homosexual marriage.

What a nice guy. I wonder if he is really selling used cars. My guess is that there are still multitudes of people who will continue sending him money. He will be rich again in mo time.

So basically Randall couldn't keep his own dick in his pants, and he's been crusading against reproductive rights because the women should have known better than to coax some guy's dick out of its pants? You know you're fucked when even the Freepers consider you a hypocrite.

He and his fellow Christian Reconstructionists (CRists) are a really scary lot. Here are some websites that might interests some if they don't know what CRism is............

9. You'll love this site! Many quotes from many scions of the movement... It seems that Rushdoony is also a Holocaust denier as well. Read more about these Taliban-style lunatics HERE

10. The only difference between Rushdoony and North, Rusdoony's son-n-law, seems to be that North realizes that the Constitution actually does prohibit the formation of a theocratic state(solution, get rid of the Constitution or at the very least pesky bits like Aricle VI which prohibits religious tests for holding office). Rushdoony says "tomAto"...North say "tomaato"!!! (Not a dime's worth of difference between them....

Red face Can I sue him for emotional distress?

As I have said before I was the court reporter on some of the case of PP of SE TEXAS INC. etal. versus OPERATION RESCUE, RANDALL TERRY, FLIP BENHAM, DON TRESHMAN, etal.

I took down some of the Temporary Injunction hearing in 1992 during the Rep convention in Houston.

I also took down a few days of the trial in 1994. I think I have post traumatic stress from looking at those people and listening to them testify. Planned Parenthood won a judgment of over $200,000 against them in civil court because of increased security costs, etc. because of the NON-peaceful demonstrations, firebombings, etc. in Houston. These people are crazy.

This is also a cultural/religious war. Most of the doctors who perform abortions are highly educated Jews and the anti-abortion nuts (the violent ones) tend to be uneducated German Lutherans or Catholics. The are NOT peaceful.

Furthermore, one of the lawyers for Planned Parenthood told me personally, in her office, that her office was broken int o and ONE PARTICULAR FLOPPY was stolen that had all the plaintiff's pleadings (documents) on it, and nothing else was touched..........hmmmmmm........

I'd like to sue all of them (defendants) for causing me intentional emotional distress by being in the same court room with me!! After that trial I said "I will be damned if I ever go to court again and work at the courthouse as a reporter. I CANNOT STAND IT ANYMORE. I CANNOT TAKE THE STRESS. I WILL DROP DEAD FROM A STROKE AT THIS RATE. I CANNOT STAND THESE PEOPLE."

So I didn't and have not worked as a court reproter in a trial since 1994. The lawyers destroyed our jobs in 1996 anyway and I haven't had a real job since then, so......

aggghhhhhhhh
