COMMITTED A MAJOR FAULT, which anyone who wishes can label a
LIE.
I stated in that OP at that thread that

"HUMANKIND HAVE ** 48** CHROMOSOMES."

That assertion of mine is a BLATANT FALSEHOOD. I apologise to all members & to anyone else whom my ERROR or LIE if you prefer has led astray..

Humankind DO NOT HAVE FORTY-*EIGHT* Chromosomes!!!!!!

So far as we know at present (= early 2003), humankind =
Homo sapiens, the species, have
FORTY-*SIX* chromosomes. Please correct this FACT in you-all's data-stores. (The other allegations in my OP >>>> including those about the human X and Y (=sex) chromosomes, remain true/correct, so far as we know in January 2003.)

(There is a reason for my error, my UNJUSTIFIED , FOOLISH, and CULPABLE LIE/ERROR. When I first learnt Biology way back in *1945*, I was Taught the erroneous pseudo-datum: my Bio professors & textbooks all believed, *in 1945*, that
forty *EIGHT* was the correct number. Only some decades later the (so-far-correct) correct number of human chromosomes was found to be (>>>> so-far) FORTY *SIX*. Repeat,
Forty **SIX** human chromosomes.)

48 is a very lovable number, of course == The Well-Tempered

To be guilty of lying, one must be trying to deceive. Specifically:

(1)One deliberately states or implies something to be true one actually believes to be untrue;
(2)the purpose is deception of the listener.

If you didn't do this, you have merely made a mistake. You may be culpable for the mistake, if there is cause to think you should know the facts and you haven't made the effort to check them first. Nevertheless, it would still be a mistake and not a lie.

Response to your qy just-preceding, Amos.
If no-one caught my error because no-one bothers to read my post(s), that's perfectly okay wid me, Amos. I drop my message-bottles into the here-ocean, and if anyone intercepts it/them, or doesn't intercept, that's okay.
BUT if anyone *did * read my post and was uninformed of the FACT (Which I have erred about), and went away carrying my ERROR in his/her own data -store as if it were TRUE, then I AM bothered. Hence my need to correct.
I acknowledge ("and bewail".... Naw.) that I probably do talk too-much, Amos. OTOH, your posts outnumber mine
