Default CBN, midwest storms, and the middle east peace plan.

How are tornados in the midwest and the mideast road map to peace related?

CBN has the answer.

What a bunch of maroons.

So they correlate weather incidents with events in the Mideast Peace Process. If you look at historical weather in the U.S., I bet you could find a significant "weather disaster" somewhere in the U.S. to coincide with just about any major historical event. There's such an event somewhere in the U.S. every two weeks or so, it seems like.

On the East Coast there have been less than 10 rainless weekends the entire year. And in the West, certain crop-eating pests are having their best year in six decades amid dry conditions.

They failed to mention that the significant rains some portions of the U.S. have experienced this spring (esp. the southeast) are overall a relief, as those areas had been experiencing a significant drought over the last few years. And they fail to mention that it's typical that one region will be experiencing a period of less rainfall/drought while another region is experiencing a period of increased rainfall with occasional flooding.

No god is necessary to explain weather phenomena.

Its weird ....US steps into Iraq and it encounters what maybe Iraq's biggest sandstorm in History. US enters Iraq in holy month of Muharram. US declares implicit Victory with Ush on a Carrier. Roughly around the same time you have 400 tornadoes in 10 days in Midwest. Oklahoma is declared a disaster area and 45 people die as well as much property damage. The last record was 170. In the Month of May we have a partial solar Eclipse with an Inverted shadow due to bizarre geometry ( This will never happen again in 100 Years). SARS , MONkey pox, and Ebola are stronger than ever ( 4rth Horseman of Apocalypse). Earthquakes in Morroco, Algeria, Azerbiajjan and Turkey in only one months time. Record temperature highs in the Balkans and Serbia for the last 120 years. and Record highs in Albania in last 70 years. Year 2003, first endangered animal is cloned. Record Forest fires in U.S and record droughts.

Iraq is the birthplace of civilization, origin of garden of Eden , Birthplace of Biblical Patriarch Abraham in Ur, burial of Ali ( son in law of the Prophet). It is also the place Mongolians in an attempt to destroy Islam lit Baghdad on Fire. In less than 10 years Mongolians collectively convert to Islam. In the year 2003, Us lights Baghdad on Fire......

2003 Ramadan. The Ramadan of Double Eclipse [ full solar and full lunar ] Nov 9 and Nov 23.

Do you think armageddon is near. contrary to popular opinion armageddon is not the end of the world. Its a beginning of another.

No.

Look back at virtually any period of history and one could find equally "astounding" events happening. To be blunt, shit happens, all the time.

The Romans were especially good at the art of manipulating the political situation based on various "omens." Reading Colleen McCoullough's Masters of Rome series, I remember at some point a part where opponents of a particular law or war found no less than 10 or 15 bad omens (including volcanoes erupting and things like crying statues of Juno [crying Mary statues and icons anybody?]) that suggested the gods were angry with the law.

And 2000 years we still have rubes trying to pull the same nonsense...

Have you read 'The Chariots of the Gods" by Erich Von Daniken, or books on the supernatural origin of the Egyptian pyramids? They are pretty weird, also.

River, I don't mean to summarily dismiss the collection of facts you have listed. They really are very interesting. However, the point I think is that if we choose almost any point in our history, and apply the same reasoning, we would be able to gather a similar collection of facts, showing that the "end times" have been apparently happening over and over again.

Funny, I read river's post and thought he was just parodying CBN by attributing "acts of god" to US actions that they supported.

Anyway, I get so angry when I realize that people actually believe this crap. I heard some fundy nit in the gym parroting Pat on this issue recently.

10 weekends of rain in the South. What horror! God doesn't want us to have any fun. Never mind that I went to a sprint kayak regatta at Lake Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club back in May and they were mighty happy to have the rain. You see, they're set to host the World Championships in September and last year the lake was so low that the course was in jeopardy.

So what's the significance of the devastating tornados that came through last year? And the year before that? And the 150 years of recorded history before that?

Summer is thunderstorm and tornado season in the Midwest and has been for a long, long time. It doesn't mean anything. I don't understand how people fall for this, unless they don't remember what happened a year ago.
