Post Hypocrisy, TN

From the newswire:

Hamilton officials claim U.S. funded textbooks promoting Islam

Quote:
Still smarting from a federal court order them to remove postings of the Ten Commandments in government buildings, Hamilton County officials complain that the federal government published textbooks promoting Islam.
How much do you want to bet that their problem is not that the government is promotting religion, but that it's "promoting" a "false" religion.

If the Government was printing Textbooks that promote salvation through Christ and giving them to Afgans, Hamiton County officials will be the first ones supporting it.

Of interest is the fact that Americans United agrees with the "hypocrites."

Quote:
The Americans United for Separation of Church and State see it differently and may go to court over the matter, said the Rev. Barry Lynn, executive director of the group.

"This is a clear case of federal tax dollars promoting a specific faith tradition," Lynn said. "It doesn't matter if it is here or in another country or whether it has a public policy rationale or not."

Of greater interest is the fact that the AU was consistent on both issues.

Where is the outrage? The US funded Afghan jihadis, so AID supplied textbooks for their schools that taught violent struggle against the infidel (that's us, the US taxpayers.) After producing a generation of violent thugs, that became an embarrassment, so AID funded new textbooks that had a few violent images removed, but were still in violation of the law against funding religious material.

The outrage needs to begin within the areas where the information can be disseminated (sp?) -- television and radio. You are no doubt aware that the majority of Americans lack outrage because they haven't been informed (a more cynical writer may put that differently -- "they haven't been told what to think").

In modern American society, the media decide what is outrageous. Evidence the current brouhaha (I can spell "brouhaha," but not "disseminate." Yeesh.) over "who-knew-what-and-when-they-knew-it" about September 11. Mostly a non-story, the media worried it like a dog's favorite chew-toy until the Government caught on and began creating sensation.

Perhaps the problem is that the "right people" aren't aware of this. So... anyone have an "in" with the networks?
