Default Another sign of the End Times: Direct Deposit

Please let me vent :

The fact that the company I work for is fundy- owned hasn't really interfered in my job too much. It's a secular industry and we try to get secular customers. Anyway, our office manager (who happens to be the owner's mother in law) is a massive fundy. And today I found out why we don't have direct deposit: it's a sign of the end of the world.

It would be easier if we got our paychecks at lunchtime, so we can deposit them before the end of the business day, but instead we get them at 4:50 pm on payday. The idea is if you get your paycheck before the end of the day, you'll leave and never come back. Or something. Christian values at work.

The subject of direct deposit has been brought up before, but now we have a new office manager in training who brought it up (probably just as confused why we didn't have it as everyone else in the company), and had to argue with fundy office manager over it.

For the last year I've been frustrated that I didn't have direct deposit, and now I have a good reason. Somehow avoiding it will stop the antichrist? Does this have something to do with a one world currency? This is clearly insane, right?

Thanks, Jesus, for making every pay day a hassle (although I thank you exclusively for allowing me to have a job in the first place, I'm not complaining about that obviously. Thank you Jesus. :notworthy )

"Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world and gotten direct deposit. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist." -II John 7

There was a lot of this around Y2K. The Christian Reconstructionists were sure that the computers would crash, and since all our financial accounts were based on computer records, that the entire economy would collapse and Americans would have to go back to living off the land and using barter, and would finally have to turn to god, since secular humanist computers had failed them. Didn't happen.

If the company you work for is truly fundy, you should worry about whether they are paying taxes to the federal government for you. Your social security number is, of course, the mark of the beast, even if it isn't implanted under your skin.

But when it is implanted under your skin, or marked on your skin as a bar code, you can be sure the end times are really here.

The real wacko Christian right is obsessed with bar codes.

The End? A Look at Biblical End Time Prophecy and a Cashless Society!

My company only allows signing up for direct deposit twice a year, Jan 1 and July 1. Since I started Jan 6 I just missed a sign up period!! But I have signed up for the July 1 one and direct deposit will start sometime next month and I will be so happy. My ATM pin spells an evil word too!

I have no problem with people being religious, so long as it doesn't make them perform completely retarded actions such as that bank manager.

Is there any special reason why your paycheck isn't automatically deposited to a bank account in the US?

Here in Sweden you never get a paycheck, your pay is automatically deposited to your salary account and the tax is deducted automatically aswell. The entire procedure of getting your salary as a check and having to cash it yourself seems quite a hassle.
