Post evolution vs id debate in KC MO this Saturday

A debate organized by a group called the intelligent design network will take place this coming Saturday the 27th at 7pm at the Rose Theatre in Rokhurst High School. It is located at 9301 State Line Road, Kansas City Missouri. Tickets for the debate cost $10(students might be able to get a discount) and can only be purchased at the door right now. Representing the id people are Jonathan Wells, Michael Behe, J.P. Moreland and John Calvert. Representing science and reason are Mano Singham, Denis Lamoureux, Steven Gey, and KU professor John Staver.

I am planning on going and would like to talk to anyone else who is also planning to attend, especially if you are from the Lawrence area.

They just never quit do they? Maybe you could print off the Wells FAQ on talkorigins and hand that out. Be sure to bring up that sacturum amendment.

BTW, wouldn't this example of dishonesty by Wells
<a href="http://www.millerandlevine.com/km/evol/author.html" target="_blank">http://www.millerandlevine.com/km/evol/author.html</a>

be considered slander? It certainly looks like it comes close.

I hope those science and reason people have some experience in these debates; the names don't look familiar.

Albion, my worry exactly. I hope they're hitting the books re: creationist debating tactics.

You just encouraged me in my Faith.
I went to the misquote of Kenneth Miller and now have read the last chapter of "Finding Darwins God" I now am not only encouraged in my faith but have been energized to admit my belief in evolution to other Christians and try to prevent the damage ICR and other organizations are doing to Faith. I think it is as signifigant that God can work through an atheist (if thats what you are, no offense if you are not) to encourage a Christian as it is that He can create through evolution.
Thank you
I also hope the evolutionists win the debate.

It went very well. Mano Singham (a physicist and one of the good guys) was fabulous. He provided the best moment of the conference when, after a buildup, the moderator Woody Cozad asked the question, 'Is Origins Science, SCIENCE?" Singham simply said, "No". Everyone waited for a bout a half second before they realized he was done answering. Hilarious.

Cheers,

KC
