Post Andre Lemaire Talk, Edinburgh UK

Hey all.
Not sure this is the right section or not to post this in, please feel free to move it if I've got it wrong

For any people here who might be in Scotland, Prof Andre Lemaire is giving a public talk on the James ossuary.

Its at New College, the Mound, Edinburgh. Thats that big pointy building on the back of the pound notes incorrectly identified as the Scottish Parliament.

Its being given in February 28th, in Room 1.

I've forgotten what time its being held, I'll find out tomorrow if anyone's interested. If you want to go and need directions/want to know how to get to Room 1, let me know

Would someone want to take notes and report back here?

best,
Peter Kirby

I'm quite happy to, as I'm going. (It is being held in my faculty, after all!) though I suspect I'll feel a bit of a tit sitting there with a notepad. I'll just sit at the back

It should be quite interesting, several of the staff here have seen the ossuary for themselves when they went to Canada for a conference, and I know at least one strongly believes it to be a forgery based on the writing style. I suspect he'll be bringing his views up if there is a Q&A session.

Update: its being held at 4:15pm.

I thought I would bump this up, and mention that the current issue of The Skeptical Inquirer has an article by fraud and foregery expert Joe Nickell on the James ossuary. There is a useful summary of the physical evidence to date, and a few new observations. The article is not online yet.

Maybe you should put the notepad down so you can get a better feel.
