Question Meat without animals?!

I read this article on this link here:

<a href="http://www.corp.aventis.com/future/downloads/PDF/fut0003/Techno_Vegetarianism_E_3_2000.pdf" target="_blank">http://www.corp.aventis.com/future/downloads/PDF/fut0003/Techno_Vegetarianism_E_3_2000.pdf</a>

The article states that sometime in the near future it will be possible to create meat (for human consumption) -- without raising and slaughtering animals.

I found this concept really interesting. Anyone have any info on this? Is this possible on a world-wide scale?

I hope this link works

Hi RedEx,

It's been a common idea in science fiction for decades. You get some tissue, keep it alive in a vat, and just keep trimming it back as it grows (and eat the trimmings).

cheers,
Michael

Right. It's called Soylent Green. No animals harmed, nutritious food for all.
