I have never been to Utah. Still, I am hesitant to lump Mormons and Fundies; at least, I am hesitant to consider Utah as "the most fundy state." The Mormons I knew as a kid in the midwest showed all the trappings of religious delusion, including asceticism, but Mormons just don't conjure up the hillbilly-tract totin'-Word spreadin' insanity that is Fundamentalism.

Actually, that's very much true. But we've also had a lot of Germans move in recently in Tuscaloosa and they've diluted that city somewhat. Birmingham, where I live, though is, acording to the fundies at least, the most heathen county in Alabama with the least percentage of saved souls. And yes, the Baptists did sponsor that study.

Oklahoma is a good choice...ya know Oral Roberts University and all.

Mom lives in Huntsville AL...she said the city is called "yankee town", but the rest of the state is pretty damn bad, she has met snake handlers!

Thanks for all the information, everyone

My man now lives in Fingerville, South Carolina - what a strange name for a town that is!
Good, I got a state I can actually spell!

That depends if you would call Noah a fundie.

You aren't referring to that Noah's ark thing they were/are building up there in WV are you? I used to drive from Washington, DC out to the Bridgeport area once a week. Every week I'd drive past this "New Ark" thing made out of steel I-beams on I-68. It never seemed to get any bigger though. I guess his fundie funding got cut!

No, I was talking about where Noah was passed out drunk exposing his genitals.
