So Magus55, do you have a sin guage or badge to detect when you have sins? How do you know:

1) You have sin?
2) That what you think is removing sin is at all effective?

Well I finally found the Rapture in First Thess and it doesn't say that the faithful are going to disappear. It says that they are going to float up into the air. An air traffic nightmare!

Proportionately, that's about 50 people out of the city of Houston, Texas (pop. 2 million), or about 5 people in the podunk highway intersection I was raised in.

Suppose further that the people taken are those who have followed Jesus's directives to Christians: Give away all you have, forsake your family, etc. Whacko street preachers, bums, and maybe some super-insular home-schoolers or members of some hippie commune or something. Missionaries in Borneo.

Would we really notice? What if it's already happened? Armageddon actually did start at midnight, NY eve, Jan. 1 2000... we just didn't know! Now we're in the Tribulation! Eek.

Shrub-boy, our President... he's the ANTICHRIST! AAaaaahhhh!
Where did you hear that? The 144,000 are the Jews that aren't yet saved, but will become witnesses to God during the Tribulation. They will stay on Earth and be marked by God so no one can harm them. They, along with all who convert during the Tribulation will live during the Milennium kingdom ( provided the survive through the Tribulation).

The Rapture will take all true believers in Christ. So, lets say 2 billion Christians, maybe a Billion are actually true christians ( wild guesstimate on the number), so a billion people would be Raptured. Obviously, only God knows the exact number, but it will be a huge amount. The Bible i believe says inumerable.

No clue where you heard 144000 will be Raptured. They are all virgin male Jews, 12000 from each of the twelve tribes, who will witness to the Earth after the Rapture.

1) Because I know from the Bible what Sin is, therefore i know when i commit it. I can also tell when the Holy Spirit is convicting me of a sin and alerting me that it's wrong. Its an internal feeling thats hard to explain, I just know.

2) Because after accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior i'm convicted of my Sins. Immediately know when i commit them and ask God for forgiveness for doing them. I also hate sin and try very hard not to commit any. Didn't care as much before i found Jesus.

I thought so. Fact is Magus55, you don't know. You know what others have told you, but you have no idea from first hand observation if it works at all. Now I can understand you accepting such information if there were others that did know, but alas there are not. What you are involved in is the sort of thing you would expect if fraud was involved. Fraudulent claims are often prefaced by: "I can't show you directly but I assure you I have it on good authority that it is so." For all you know Magus55 you have been bamboozled.

You're right, I don't know 100%. Its called faith, which is believe it or not, something every human on Earth exercises every day. And no i didn't come to my beliefs just because of what people told me. I learned on my own and found faith through a personal experience with divine intervention.

You can't prove science, and probably haven't gone out and studied and observed evolution or the Big bang on your own, unless you've been alive for "millions" of years and watched species evolve. You know what scientists have told you based on their unprovable assumptions.

That is where you are wrong Magus55. I have observed evolution and the Big Bang on my own. You could too if you wished. That is the entire point of science, everything that is claimed as scientific knowledge must be supported by evidence (unless fraud is involved.) Religion is the oldest and biggest scam in the world and you have been suckered in. The other thing to remember about science is that it doesn't prove anything. It provides explanations of natural phenomena that can be backed up with observations and experiments. It is not perfect by any means but it has an infinitely greater amount of verifiable evidence supporting its claims then religion will ever have.

Even if science had nothing to back any of its claims, it still doesn’t mean that you are not being bamboozled by religion.

Magus, please make your own thread for self-righteousness. I'm trying to answer a hypothetical question here, and you're hijacking it.

Hey, these enraptured folks are supposed to be rising up into the air, just like Jesus did.

... where are they going?

The Moon? Jupiter? Polaris? Tatooine?

I mean, once we get rid of the dismal superstition and scientific ignorance that says that the sky is where god lives...

... where could they possibly be going?
