One thing I noticed is that it was Denton's book that got Johnson onto his evolution denial. And yet even Denton has abandoned the arguments from that book.

The difference here is that Denton is a scientist and Johnson is a lawyer.

The order of the revelations is interesting. Born-again Christianity, then realization that naturalism is bunk. Isn't natural theology supposed to work the other direction?

It would appear that he has developed a political agenda. The acceptance of Jesus cleanses him of the "dirtiness" of his divorce, and prepares him for public office. In this part of the world (Colorado) atheism has an unsavory stigma, much like divorce.

I don't know for certain, but his oratory smacks of candidacy. I will be watching...
