Yay! Back on the Internet and all these old replies to catch up to!

So he knew that humans would disobey and damn themselves to hell and he would have to murder a great many of them, including babies and the unborn. And he still went ahead and did it?

God is omniscient so yes He knew humans would do the same thing, but He had to give them free will in order for love to be a choice. You can't force love, the choice to love or not has to exist which is why He created us with Free will, full well knowing many of us would reject it.

If you can't force love, why does God give people the "choice" between loving him and burning in hell forever? This sounds like an attempt to force people to love him by punishing them if they don't. You know how a bank robber threatens to kill the teller if she won't hand over the money? Is he giving her much of a choice about it?

Experience Pride and Envy? Pride and Envy are sins. They go against God's nature.

But my point, which you seem to have missed, is that if Pride and Envy, appearing apparently spontaneously, made Satan fall, why couldn't god let Adam and Eve experience this same spontaneous pride and envy to exercise their free will? Why load the dice against them by letting a very clever snake mess with their minds... unless he wanted them to fail for some reason?

For God to accept sins would mean he wasn't Holy, which means he wasn't God. You use your brain QoS, this is not that complicated. Sin is a crime against God, therefore God can't allow it.

"For I am a jealous god" - he has one sin, anyway.

God told them what was bad and what death was. He said, Do not eat from the tree.

Could you please point out in the above sentence where god describes to Adam and Eve what "bad" is and what "death" is?

Why do you need to have knowledge of the full extent of good and evil to understand what not to do? They don't have to know its evil to know they aren't supposed to do it.

But if they don't know that it's evil to disobey god, the choices they are presented with - obey or disobey - are equal. They don't know that one is right and the other is wrong.

God told them do not eat from the Tree. That doesn't require knowing that its bad, only that God said not to do it.

But why is what God says "good" while what the serpent says "bad"? How were they supposed to know the difference? God didn't even tell them specifically, "Hey, there's this devil who might get into the garden, and he may disguise himself as a talking snake, so don't listen to any talking snakes."

QoS, why do you repeatedly ask the same questions without putting any thought in to it?

But Magus, I have to ask the questions again when you evade them. If you answered them, I wouldn't need to ask them.

You don't give a crap about God anyway so why do you reply to these posts?

'Cause it's fun!

You made your choice. You rejected God and you said even if he exists, you'd rather be in Hell. Stop asking the same questions over and over, ridiculing something you don't even believe in to the microscopic level.

How does one believe in your deity-of-choice on the microscopic level? As a microbiology major, I am very interested in hearing the answer to this one.

You don't believe the Bible is from God, so just give it up.

Give what up? Why do you want me to give anything up, anyway? Are you tired of the fun already?

There is no point in you asking trivial questions repeatedly when you have no desire to change whatsoever. Its a waste of time for you, and a waste of time for us to keep repeating ourselves.

"Us"? Are you using the royal "we"?

Seriously, though, I do appreciate your kindness in trying to decide what my time is spent on, but I assure you that I'm the best judge of this. And time spent taking apart the ridiculous, the illogical and the intolerant is never a waste for me.

It's good to be back.

And your answers come likewise?

Why should I leave just because of QoS?

Yes, why should you? I certainly don't want you to! I think you're hilarious, and I'm having a lot of fun, so I do hope you stay.

I'm just gonna start ignoring her since all she wants to do is irritate Christians and absolutely doesn't care about what we say.

Just remember, Magus, Jesus said, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

Right on, QoS! :notworthy

I wonder if Magus will make the typical "But it's not meant to be taken literally!" excuse.
