xians have been predicting the apocalypse from day one after the supposed resurrection occurred (when it was supposed to happen).

to date, all of them have been wrong.
three things happen each time though:
1. someone figures out that the prophesy was 'incorrectly interpreted'
2. someone decides the precursor events hadn't actually happened
3. dates are reset and the process begins again

all the while, the rest of the world laughs at you hysterically

No, I am not predicting the apocalypse.
It's a battle that God says will happen. It's isn't the end of the world when this battle does happen.

I would be interested to see someone explain away all the prophecy's that where fulfilled by Jesus.
Even the ones that he himself could have had no control over.

The prophecy in Ezekiel is a clear one, that is why I chose it to talk on.
But again I challenge you, seriously what would you think if this actually did happen and all the natural events that go with it did occur.
Interesting thought that. Would you reject everything you have held on to for so long and follow God?
God is the best way. I would want no other way to live my life.
It's night here and I have to go to bed. I go to school tomorrow so it'll be a while until I reply again.

if i had absolute, irrefutable proof that the schitzo wargod-in-a-box of the bible did indeed exist i'd be pissed. either way you're stuck with eternal torture (heaven being far worse than hell imo) and there wouldn't be a damned thing you could do about it. i guess it'd be booze & whores until i died. i'd pretty much behave the way xians think atheists behave now.

besides, the bible sure makes satan out to be a much better guy than it does god. maybe i'd become a satanist so that in hell i could whip all of the xians who picked the wrong version of their theology.

luckily, chances of that are (so far as i can tell) zero

I don't think so, there have been many already claimed to have come true and they aren't very convincing, so why should any other.

Of course, I may be tempted to believe if Russia, Lybia, and Ethiopia all decide to invade by horseback with bows and arrows as per the prediction. I may then convert when they burn the thousands of Bows and Arrows to make that big fire that was also predicted in your chapters cited. <img src="graemlins/boohoo.gif" border="0" alt="[Boo Hoo]" />

Please don't tell me we are going to have to replace words to make the prophecy true. I was about to buy stock in a bow and arrow manufacturing company in Russia.

Why not any really fun prophecies, like

Wagons that drink naphtha and that can move on their own much faster than the fastest horse.

Giant mechanical birds that people travel in, and that also drink naphtha.

Sticks that shoot pellets very fast.

Buildings tens of floors tall.

And why not mention that, beyond the Pillars of Hercules, there is a great ocean, and beyond that, a great land that has:

Badgers that squirt a nasty stink.

Vipers with rattles on their tails.

Vast herds of wild oxen with the manes of lions that graze in a vast grassland in the center of this land.

Prickly plants that look like fat leaves and green tree trunks that live in the deserts in the western parts of this land.

There is no independent confirmation that Jesus fulfilled ANY prophecies. All we have are some claims that Jesus fulfilled prophecies. If I'm writing fiction, I can have my hero fulfil any number of prophecies, fantasy writers often do that.

For instance, do you believe Jesus was born in Bethlehem? If so, why do you believe that?

I seldom go into politics but want you to know that I sympathise with atheists for bearing the brunt of religious obstinateness. I am an immigrant by choice and reluctant to speak against American politics until I am an American, which I will never be because of that.
