Default Shanks: "I'm still not convinced"

Yeah, right. Keep digging that hole.

"Why I Am Not Yet Convinced the "Brother of Jesus" Inscription is a Forgery" The answer is clear, if you believe something really hard, it has to be true!

At least Shanks publishes his opposition.

Exchange between Goren and Shanks

Quote:
However, on other matters Mr. Shanks is skillfully twisting the facts in order to present the picture as he desires. It is much easier to depict a “one-person committee” and confront only this scholar in public, rather than to present the actual facts. It is much easier to attack one individual and portray him as a crock, than to deal with the verdict of five unrelated experts, each mastering a specific field or discipline. For reasons known only to him, Shanks decided to select me as his target and to discredit my scientific integrity in order to protect his own hidden agenda that is rapidly losing points. I do not intend to express my opinion about this policy, nor do I intend to play by these rules.

Bump for Haran - who still can't seem to spot the obvious.

Once again, you are incorrect and are preaching to the choir anyway.

I have known about Shanks' opinion as long as you have, and I'm pretty sure I posted the exchange that Toto posted quite a while back in another thread here.

Now, who can't seem to spot the obvious?? Give it a rest, Sauron. Or do you just sadistically enjoy this?

Last I checked, you were exploring every utterly implausible scenario for exonerating Shanks that you could bring yourselt fo manufacture, Haran. That is pretty much the definition of "not giving it a rest".

While the rest of the world, acting with reason and logic, has long since concluded that this item is a fake, you simply can't accept it. So you posted page after page of "what if" scenarios. I doubt you would go to such an extent for someone (or something) that conflicted with your religion, now would you?

You whined that people weren't letting this item drop - but funny thing; I noticed that you had nothing to say about Shanks and BAR continuing their quixotic quest to salvage their asses (and reputations). Kinda selective, huh?

You're getting the response you deserve, Haran.

I've always been amazed at people who read posts, and then whine that they don't like what they read.

Is someone holding a gun to your head, CA? Forcing you to read what I post?

Given source and context, that strikes me as remarkably funny.

No. Why do you ask?

Not sure why. You're the one who is whining that you don't like the content of someone's post - as opposed to actually dealing with the points made in the post.

If I don't like what someone is posting, I usually take them head-on and challenge them - if I have time and inclination. You, on the other hand, seem to have neither; so you whine.

Well you're the one who seems to think that because you're bored with a particular thread, that it should be killed, moved, etc. Even though you apparently continue to read it.

Example 1:
http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.p...threadid=42268

Notice how joedad chimed in, to basically tell you to butt out, since he was acquainted with materials science and understood my point - even if you did not.

Example 2:
http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.p...threadid=42331

Toto's advice was on target - which is probably why you ignored it:

Consequent Atheist should just learn to avoid certain topics if they bore or annoy him. After all, no one can read everything on these boards.

So I ask again: is someone holding a gun to your head, forcing you to read my posts? If not, what's your beef?
