Default The "Windshield" murderer.....

She said she "asked God what to do" when her victim was dying. Why wouldn't God tell her "what to do?" I think we know the answer...

Frankly, I'm astonished that she even bothered to ask God in the first place. If she'd read the Bible, she would have known that He's already made it breathtakingly clear:
  • Leviticus 19:18.
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD.
Christ even quotes this in the New Testament. It's pretty difficult to miss.

Yes---and nearly every other religion also has an Ethic of Reciprocity such as: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.....too bad an all-powerful, loving God didn't compel her to do the right thing after she had prayed to him. Too bad her religious upbringing didn't result in living a righteous life.

Good grief. Articles like this must have been the reason why my parents would occasionally start from the table, grab us by the arm and say, "If you make a mistake, tell us! We don't care how bad it is--we'll help you out. It's far worse to try to cover things up rather than get help right away." I always thought this was obvious.

Well, of course. It's a very simple principle. I'd expect it to turn up all over the place. It certainly doesn't make Christianity "special" in any way, and I never claimed that it did.

But of course, you had to say something negative about the Christian faith, and this was about the only thing you could come up with... so please, carry on. Don't let me interrupt the flow.

Too bad an all-powerful, loving God didn't overrule her free will? Am I hearing you correctly? That wouldn't be particularly "moral", would it?

Are you telling me that you don't really mind if the Christian God turns people into robots when it suits Him? That's OK in your view, is it? How very interesting.

Indeed. Like so many people, she simply went through the motions. There certainly wasn't anything "righteous" about her lifestyle.

Oh please!

What about Jonah's free will?

What about Job's free will?

All the people who died in the flood?

All the people in Sodom and Gomorrah?

Are you telling us that Holy Blackmail is part of our free will? Join me or die, that's a choice?

Who IS this person? Is there an article online about her? None of this seems to ring a bell.

Evangelion---No, I don't mind if people are raised as Christians, and pray to a god for how to behave that that god would actually "direct their path" so that they would do the right thing. I wouldn't consider the resulting behavior to be "robotic"...

Try reading this thread.

In short, this woman hit a man while driving, he got stuck in the windshield, then she drove home and left the man to die there. She's just been convicted of murder.
