Thumbs up God's got nothing to do with the Pledge of Allegiance Furor

Hello everyone. I've been lurking in these forums for a while now and decided to finally post. I found this great article in The Nation and thought it would be a great way to introduce myself.

Enjoy...

Great article!

But I think the mods will want you to just provide the link and not the copy-and-pasted text of the article. (Copyright, and all that business.)

Thanks for your welcome, and I'll remember to just post the link next time.

Welcome, Alex. You can edit your own posts by clicking on the edit icon.

Robert Scheer is one of my favorite commentators. I think that column also ran in the LA Times.

Alex thanks for the link and welcome to the boards.

I wonder whatever happened to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. That show used to drive my friends' children bananas the same way "God" drives the fundies nuts over this decision.

I think I've read a couple of his columns before. I'll have to look for more of them, because he's a relly good commentator.

That was fantastic.
I wish there was a way to get reasonable, well-written messages of this sort out to even more people. It makes me want to drop leaflets from airplanes.

Plus, God's just about as believable as the Power Rangers, complete with crappy special effects!
